Sabah pensioners want 5 percent raise
They were a request to prioritise reception to pensioners when receiving treatment at government hospitals, special Haj pilgrimage quota for pensioners, pension annual increment from 2pc to 3pc, to increase the funeral aid from RM3,000 to RM5,000 and to appoint one representative from pensioners association into a member of the Kewangan Amanah Pesara (KWAP). Kota Kinabalu: The Sabah Pensioners Association wants a yearly pension increment from 2pc to 5pc, said association president Datuk Wilfred Lingham.He said this proposed increment will ease the high cost of living felt by retirees in Sabah.

In response to a memorandum submitted to the government by Kelab Pesara Kerajaan Malaysia in conjunction with Hari Pesara Malaysia recently, he said the increment requested is insufficient to cover the cost of living in the State.
