BEAUFORT: A single mother whose house on the banks of the Padas River is on the verge of collapse due to soil erosion will get a new house built for her by the government under the Housing Program for the Hardcore Poor (PPRT).

Assistant Minister for Local Government and Housing, Datuk Isnin Aliasnih gave an on-the-spot approval when he visited the house of Siti Norsidah Mustapa at Kampung Lubak, Friday. Isnin who is also Klias Assemblyman said the approval was using his Assemblyman funds and he advised that the new house be not too close to the river again.

He also advised all those staying beside the river to be on the alert at all times and move to safer grounds whenever there is sign of danger.

“Anyone wishing to build houses better make sure that it is not too close to the river, taking lessons from Siti’s case,” he said.
