SANDAKAN: The Sabah BN is ready for election whenever it is called, said its State Treasurer, Datuk Suhaimi Nasir.
“We are ready for battle. Bring it on,” added Suhaimi who is Umno Libaran divisional head.
He took note of the fact that PN had threatened to withdraw its support for Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri as PM and that Ismail’s response was to call for election should that happen.
Suhaimi who a Nominated Assemblyman was speaking to reporters after officiating at the presentation of aid to pupils of SK Sungai Manila, Sunday.
Present were Sungai Manila Assemblyman Mokran Ingkat; Sandakan Education Officer Dr Dalmansa Tahil; Headmaster Zaini Osman; and PIBG chairman Aziz Pani.
Asked if Sabah BN candidates have been identified, Suhaimi said the names have been submitted since three months ago after a survey but it’s up to the State party leadership.
“We are in partnership with GRS and the situation may be slightly different from Peninsular Malaysia.
“But whatever it is, we hope that Libaran will be given to Umno,” he stated.
When asked if he was one of the potential candidates, Suhaimi said he leaves it to God.
“In politics, sometimes there may be surprises or ‘kejutan’,” he said.
“The final decision lies with the Umno and BN leadership at the State and National levels, he added.
