BELURAN: Despite being trapped at the driver’s seat after a self-accident, a 59-year-old escaped serious injuries at Jalan Lung Manis, Beluran, Wednesday.

Head of the Beluran Fire and Rescue Department, Edoen Macheal, said his men received a call at 1.21pm and a team of six personnel led by him was dispatched to the scene some 40km away.

The driver of the 10-tonne lorry was rescued by firemen and sent to the hospital by an ambulance for observation.

The operation ended at 3.05pm.
