MACC must be seen as truly neutral: Bersih
Thomas cited the case of Malaysia’s spy chief Hasanah Abdul Hamid, the former Director General of the Malaysian External Intelligence Organisation (MEIO), who was charged with CBT and recently acquitted.
Kota Kinabalu: The Coalition for Clean and Fair Elections (Bersih) said there is need for a truly independent MACC that can act according to the law without fear or favour.

Bersih Chairman Thomas Fan also called for the Attorney General’s discretionary prosecution power to be separated and be vested in the office of the public prosecutor who would be empowered to act fairly based on the facts of the case.
