Kota Kinabalu: It is ironical that Sabah, despite being the biggest contributor of oil in the country, continues to be left far behind in terms of oil and gas (O&G) development by not only other O&G producing states like Sarawak and Terengganu but also non-O&G producing states like Johor and Malacca. State Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun said he sometimes wondered why money is being put in to develop the O&G industry in states that do not even produce oil or gas.
“Johor is one and Malacca is another. We are not saying that because we are dengki (envious), but surprised that the O&G industry is developed in states that do not produce oil.
