Kota Kinabalu: The Sabah Police Contingent (IPK Sabah) needs to fill 70 marine police positions as the said branch acts as a frontline directly involved in safeguarding the State’s borders.

Sabah Police Commissioner Datuk Idris Abdullah said the urgent vacancies all over Sabah are for nine officers and 61 personnel.

“Meanwhile, based on a recent senior police review of the Sabah contingent, there are 30 vacancies for two Deputy Superintendents (DSP), 12 Assistant Superintendents (ASP) and 16 Inspectors.

“We hope these vacancies are filled as soon as possible to ensure the security of the State. We do not want this lack of manpower to affect police services,” he said.
