KOTA BELUD: The younger generation should value and appreciate the country’s independence.

Pintasan Assemblyman, Fairuz Renddan said the freedom that we enjoy today was due to the hard work and sacrifice of the nation’s founding fathers.

“It is important that we instil the spirit of nationalism and patriotism in our young in order to make them more appreciative of our nation and one of the ways to do this is to get them to participate in national day programs,” he stated.

Speaking to reporters after officiating the 2022 KMKM Convoy in his constituency, recently, he said the Convoy showed the youth that the government programme not only visits big towns but also suburban areas.

In conjunction with the Convoy’s visit, he distributed Malaysian flags to community leaders including village headmen and village committee chairmen.

Fairuz who is also the head of Armada, Bersatu’s youth wing urged all 25 Armada divisional leaders in Sabah to distribute the Jalur Gemilang.

The Convoy covers more than 2,100 km criss-crossing Sabah and ended in Kota Kinabalu last Friday.
