SANDAKAN: Sandakan Member of Parliament Vivian Wong expressed disappointment at the Federal Government’s unwillingness to provide special tax incentives for Sabah in order to attract more investments to the State and grow its manufacturing industry. She was responding to the Prime Minister’s written reply to her request in the Parliament for the Federal Government to implement a special tax regime for Sabah to attract more factories, thus helping to bridge the industrial development gap between Sabah and the peninsula.
In his reply, the Prime Minister said there are various tax incentives such as the Promotion of Investments Act 1986 to attract foreign investments.
