Kota Kinabalu: An elderly woman collapsed and died while doing her usual morning walk at the Tanjung Aru beach, here, Monday morning.
Police said the 73-year-old woman was just about 100 metres away from her car in the 6.45am incident at Beach 3.
He said a passer-by stumbled upon the woman’s lifeless body lying on the shore and immediately alerted the police.
“Policemen from the nearby Tanjung Aru police station rushed to the location,” he added.
Based on initial investigations, police believed the woman had driven to the said location prior to the incident.
“She had left her wallet and mobile phone in the car to go for a walk,” said Mohd Zaidi, adding no external injuries were found on the victim’s body.
“There were no signs of struggle. At this moment, we found no criminal element in the case,” he said, adding the matter has been classified as a sudden death report.
