ALOR SETAR: The head of the committee which organised an exhibition on PAS leaders at the annual muktamar has defended the absence of former spiritual leader Nik Aziz Nik Mat’s portrait at the event.

Speaking to FMT, the official said the exhibition was only meant to highlight past PAS presidents and their contributions.

Our next exhibition will be on our past spiritual leaders,” said Jamman Aini Mohd Rafiei, the head of the party’s archives and library section.

Nik Aziz was the PAS spiritual leader from 1991 until his death in 2015. He was also the longest-serving Kelantan menteri besar after helming the state from 1990 to 2013.

Cosmobeauté Malaysia and beautyexpo will expand into East Malaysia with the launch of the Cosmobeauté Malaysia Borneo Festival 2026 at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC) from May 25 to 26.
Earlier, a news outlet had highlighted the missing portrait of Nik Aziz from the exhibition while pointing out that it features pictures of PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang and spiritual leader Hashim Jasin.

According to the report, the PAS secretariat responded by saying that the photo of Hashim being next to that of Hadi was only because they are the current party leaders.

“The other three former spiritual leaders were excluded due to a lack of space.”

Other portraits at the exhibition include those of party founder Fuad Hassan, Burhanuddin al-Helmy, Asri Muda, Yusof Rawa, Fadzil Noor and Abbas Alias.
