KINABATANGAN: The driver of a Proton X50, was seriously injured while the driver of a Toyota Vigo escaped injuries in an accident involving three vehicles at Jalan Bukit Berlian, here, on Wednesday.
Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department Operations Centre Sabah received a call about the incident at 1.54pm and a six member-team led by Abd Fitri Sangkahan were despatched to the location some 13km from the Fire and Rescue Station at Kinabatangan.
The operation chief reported that the accident was due to the Isuzu Dmax which lost control and crashed into two other vehicles travelling in the opposite direction.
The first vehicle, Toyota Vigo managed to avoid the oncoming vehicle but second vehicle Proton X50 was not able to do so and was involved in the collision.
The Proton X50 driver who was badly injured was sent to the nearby hospital by a member of the public for treatment.
The fire and rescue team later cleaned up the oil spill on the road. Operations ended at 3.06 pm.
