Kota Kinabalu: Firefighters came to the rescue of a one-year-old who got locked in his mother's car parked at University Apartment One, Jalan Sulaman, here, Sunday.

A 1.02pm distress call prompted firefighters from the Jalan Lintas station led by Mohd Faizal Alias to the scene.

The team managed to pry open the car's passenger door using special equipment before handing the boy over to his mother.

The rescue operation ended at 1.42pm.
