Kota Kinabalu: The Association of Private Practitioners Society (APPS) will hold the 2nd APPS Scientific Conference at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC), here, Oct 7-9.
Its President Dr Devadas Ramankutty said this while leading its committee members in paying a courtesy call on Deputy Chief Minister cum Industrial Development Minister Datuk Dr Joachim Gunsalam at his office in Wisma Kewangan, here, Thursday.
The courtesy visit was meant to invite Dr Joachim to be the guest of honour for the conference.
“We are honoured and delighted that Datuk Dr Joachim has kindly consented to officiate the Scientific Conference event and has also accepted APPS invitation as its Patron,” said Dr Devadas.
APPS is a non-governmental organisation registered on Mar 22, 2016. It comprises private medical practitioner members in Sabah.
The main objectives of the association are to safeguard the honour of the medical profession, promote the interests of its members and to create awareness and enlighten the public on matters of health, in line with its motto of “Commitment to Community”.
The APPS new committee line-up include Founder & Immediate Past President Datuk Dr James Jeremiah, Vice President Dr Rizin Kusop, Honorary Secretary Dr Saifulbahri Ahmad, Honorary Treasurer Dr Terence Soong as well as committee members Dr Zulfikar Zulkifu and Dr Loriot Kenson.
