Najib given clean bill of health, to return to Kajang prison
The Cheras Rehabilitation Hospital (HRC) said former prime minister Najib Razak has been taught how to carry out exercises on his own by physiotherapists at HRC.
PETALING JAYA: Specialists from Hospital Kuala Lumpur (HKL) and Cheras Rehabilitation Hospital (HRC) have given Najib Razak a clean bill of health, with the former prime minister allowed to return to Kajang prison.

In a statement, HRC said the specialists found that the former prime minister was in good health following his latest check-up. It added that he was also taught how to carry out exercises on his own by physiotherapists at HRC.

According to the hospital, the specialists also updated Najib and his family members on his current health condition in a meeting.

HRC said it remained committed to being transparent while treating and rehabilitating all its patients.

Previously, the prisons department said Najib was transferred to HRC for treatment and observation on Monday after the former prime minister was referred by HKL.

The department said the Kuala Lumpur High Court ordered for Najib to be taken to the hospital for treatment on Sept 12. He was then admitted to HKL last week after his blood pressure experienced “fluctuations”.

Health minister Khairy Jamaluddin had also denied allegations that Najib was being given special treatment after a message made the rounds on social media alleging that the Pekan MP’s cell in the Kajang prison complex had been renovated.

The viral message also claimed there were plans to have Najib transferred to HRC to allow easier access to VVIP facilities.
