Fishing firm fined for disposing garbage at sea
 “Fishing vessel owners are advised to constantly remind and monitor their workers not to throw garbage into the sea,” she said.
Kota Kinabalu: City Hall issued the maximum compound of RM500 to a fishing company after one of its vessels was filmed dumping waste into the sea.

Mayor, Datuk Noorliza Awang Alip said an individual had volunteered as a witness according to the (Anti-Littering) By-Laws.

“The company concerned admitted the offence committed by their employees.

 “We often receive complaints related to the dumping of garbage into the sea from fishing vessels and will intensify surveillance and intelligence operations.
