Plea by 3,000 folks

Kota Kinabalu: More than 3,000 people, including civil servants and retirees residing in the Kg Brunei and Kg Juara squatter colony dubbed Bumiputra Malay housing, in Manggatal, are appealing to Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor to continue gazetting their villages as settlements.

They also hoped the Head of State would intervene as they received a second demolition warning by City Hall that will end on Thursday (Oct 6).

Its spokesperson Dato’ (Datu) Mohd Akjan bin Datu Ali Muhammad hoped the demolition exercise at the two villages would be called off as they were supposed to gazetted under the previous Warisan-Plus state governmentin 2020.
