Instil patriotism from young, says Hanafiah

Kota Kinabalu: Children’s exposure to the celebration of independence is important in order to instil a sense of knowledge and love for the nation at a young age, said Yayasan Sabah Corporate Secretary, Hanafiah Diman.He emphasised the need of instilling good values from a young age when officiating the closing ceremony of the Yayasan Sabah Child Development Division’s Potential Day Celebration at the Menara Tun Mustapha’s Tun Ahmad Raffae Auditorium, here, Saturday.

He said by giving children a platform and opportunity to express their potential through participation in a variety of activities, the celebration of Independence Month, World Children’s Day and Reading Month combined made the celebration more meaningful.
“In order to promote a comprehensive and balanced development and growth, including aspects of physical, emotional, spiritual, intellectual, and social development, various activities planned throughout the month of August until today to celebrate these three festivals are part of the implementation of holistic teaching and learning activities for all students of the Child Development Division,” he said.
