Many sexual harassment cases unreported
Arnidawati said men aren’t safe either with most doers being superiors who often threaten a dead end career.
Kota Kinabalu: The Labour Department (LD) received 77 reports of sexual harassment in the peninsula workplace during a five-year span from 2018 to 2021.With most cases reported in Kuala Lumpur, Universiti Putra Malaysia Faculty of Human Ecology’s, Dr Wan Arnidawati Abdullah said most victims are silenced by the crime commonly affecting women.

“Most cases go unreported by the victims out of fear and shame. The numbers would be staggering if they did,” she told an Anti-Sexual Harassment Convention held here recently.
