Government is urged to intervene on Safoda land sale

Kota Kinabalu: A human rights group seeks the State Government’s intervention on the sale of Sabah Forestry Development Authority (Safoda) land which has become “Kampung Niantang” in Pitas to the Sabah Rubber Industry Board (LIGS).

Malaysia International Humanitarian Organisation (MHO) Secretary General Datuk Hishamuddin Hashim claimed villagers are being flushed out of their own ancestral land.

A demonstration outside the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Office near Jalan UMS here, on Tuesday, was met with cries of “uphold humanity” and “we want justice” from villagers.
