Man found dead in Sandakan house

SANDAKAN: A 57-year-old local was found dead in a house in Flat Taman Sejati, Wednesday evening.

The deceased’s neighbour called MERS 999 when he detected an unpleasant odour coming from the unit.

The police who arrived at the scene found the lattice door locked and requested the help of the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department to enter the house.

Police then found the body of the deceased in a sitting position on a living room chair. He was believed to have died several days ago. His body was sent to the Forensic Unit of the Duchess of Kent Hospital for post-mortem.

Initial investigations found no signs of injury on the deceased’s body.

This case was classified as sudden death.
