Close call for Kunak driver
The Kunak-Lahad Datu road, especially along the winding hills between KM22 to KM30, had been nicknamed “snake hill” by locals.
KUNAK: A Toyota Hilux driver survived after the vehicle skidded and overturned at Jalan Kunak-Lahad Datu, here, early Sunday.

It was understood that it was raining when the incident happened.

Kunak Fire and Rescue Department Chief Mohammad Omarbatha said they received an emergency call at 6.03am via the MERS999 line.

“A team led by Senior Fire Officer (PBK II) Kenny Fred Sikun along with an fire engine and an EMRS ambulance rushed to the scene some 30 kilometers from the station.

Mohammad added further inspections were carried out at the scene to ensure there were no other hazards before ending operations at 7.16am.
