Puncak Gloxinia folks fed up with never-ending water woes
The representative said meetings have been held with the PGK management to discuss the problem several times but it was still not resolved.
PAPAR: Some 1,000 residents of Puncak Gloxinia Condominium at Kinarut South here are fed up with the longstanding water woe that has worsened over the last six months.A representative said water problems began in March and the problem worsened when rationed water supply sent in truck tanks recently became insufficient, which forced residents to find an alternative water supply for daily use.

“At the initial stage of rationing, water supply was distributed from 4pm to 9.30am daily. The water supply was shortened to only two hours a day and has become inconsistent.
“The lack of water supply is also affecting the emotions and mental health of housewives as they have to carry water to the house every day yet at the same time expensive water bills are still being paid.

“The saddest thing is that a (recovering) resident who just gave birth by surgery is forced to collect and transport water from the waste house (rumah sampah) pipes. Even elderly people and children are collecting and transporting water using mineral bottles,” they said. The representative said meetings have been held with the PGK management to discuss the problem several times but it was still not resolved.

“We are very miserable, the cost of living is increasing yet we have to buy water. It is difficult to cook and wash clothes. Don’t give us any more excuses, we just want to be supplied with clean tap water 24 hours a day.

“We want the authorities to take immediate action on this problem, especially by the management itself as residents have paid the resident management fees,” they said.
