Sabah needs a special committee with Election Commission, National Registration Department: Star
Hiew hoped the formation of a special committee could clear doubts in the electoral roll to form a government in Malaysia.
Kota Kinabalu: The Sabah Government should form a Joint Special Committee with the Election Commission (EC), National Registration Department (NRD) and Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to investigate the dubious electoral roll in Sabah.

Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku (Star) Tanjung Aru Division Chief Hiew Choon Yu said EC and NRD need to explain why there is an unusual increase in the electoral roll, if not postpone the use of the electoral roll until all doubts are cleared.

“The 15th General Election (GE15) is approaching but there has been no explanation from the EC and NRD regarding the call for Sabah political leaders to correct the sudden increase in the voter list,” he said.

According to Hiew, the increase of more than 50 per cent of voters in 25 parliamentary constituencies in Sabah within two years is very doubtful.
