Surge in voters: Election Commission again urged to be transparent
Johnnybone acknowledged while the auto registration of voters was gazetted in parliament, Sabahans want an explanation on the drastic increase which includes those who previously did not register.
Kota Kinabalu: The Election Commission came under pressure again to be transparent over the drastic rise of 570,000 Sabah voters in the coming election from the youth sections of both Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) and opposition Warisan with Nomination Day being Saturday.

GRS Youth urged EC and the National Registration Department (NRD) to investigate who comprise the new voters under automatic registration in Sabah.

Its Chief, Jonnybone J. Kurum, said the sudden spike underscores the need for a taskforce to verify voters, especially those who were automatically registered.
