Tuaran: Bersatu and Umno will form a joint-election machinery in Sulaman and Pantai Dalit here to ensure victory for Tuaran Parliament candidate Datuk Joniston Bangkuai in the upcoming 15th General Election.

Chief Minister and GRS chairman Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor said both parties will work hard to ensure a comfortable win for Joniston.

Speaking at a gathering with Umno and Bersatu's Tuaran division leaders here, Hajiji said the decision to field Joniston, who is Kiulu Assemblyman from PBS, was made in the interest of the constituents.

"We must not repeat past mistakes. Too much politicking…the responsibility to develop the State was not carried out," he said in a statement.
