Man perishes in Lahad Datu fire
The houses that were completely destroyed in the fire.
LAHAD DATU: A senior citizen perished in a fire that destroyed 10 squatter houses in Kampung Puyut, here, Monday.

The early morning fire also destroyed four vehicles.

District Fire and Rescue Station Chief Sumsoa bin Rashid said the charred remains of the yet-to-be identified 66-year-old man were found in the water under the victim’s house.

Sumsoa said 20 firefighters with two fire engines and an Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) vehicle were deployed to the scene after receiving a distress call at 4.34am.
