"It is not true that Kota Marudu is behind development because the district has progressed by leaps and bounds.

"But still, of course, there is still room for development. We have unfinished businesses here, and I, if given the opportunity, would like to fulfill your needs," said Ongkili on his last lap of the campaigning.

He stressed that in the last two weeks, the Opposition have been pressing on issues of lack development and his health condition, but Ongkili said he is not easily wavered.

Ongkili, who is in a six-cornered fight against Parti Kesejahteraan Demokratik Masyarakat's Datuk Wetrom Bahanda, Datuk Jilid Kuminding of Warisan, Shahrizal Denci of MUDA, Pejuang Tanah Air's Mohd Azmie Zulkiflee and sole independent candidate Norman Tulang, however said he is touched by the support from all component parties, including his former political nemesis.

"We were on different sides in the past (elections), but this time, we all come out as one to ensure the Kota Marudu parliamentary seat belongs to GRS.

"Do not be swayed by the Opposition's lies and promises. They are just good in giving out  _gula-gula_ (sweets), a wrong decision tomorrow would cause us five years of misery," he said.
