King extends deadline to 2pm Tuesday for parties to nominate PM

PETALING JAYA: The Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Sultan Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah, has given party leaders and heads of coalitions a one-day extension of the deadline to propose their prime ministerial candidate.

In a statement, Istana Negara said they have until 2pm tomorrow to submit the names of their candidates.

Comptroller of the Royal Household Ahmad Fadil Shamsuddin said this followed the party leaders’ requests for an extension of the deadline.

The leaders were initially supposed to submit their choices by 2pm today.
