Kota Kinabalu: The cooperation between Sabah Football Association (Safa) and Asian Supply Base (ASB) Sdn Bhd are set to continue for the good of the sport in the State. This followed a recent visit by a Safa delegate led by its assistant secretary general Azman Mastar to ASB’s chief executive officer Japar Esteban at his office in Labuan.

According to Azman, the discussion between the two parties touched on the Safa Academy implementation programme which is expected to be launched in Sandakan in the near future.

“ASB is one of the sponsors of the academy and we want to express our gratitude to them for the contribution and sponsorship in the past to help develop the sport in the State.

“We hope this joint strategic cooperation will continue to ensure that the plans for the future of football can be realised,” he said.

He also said the launch of the academy which was delayed by the recent general election will be held soon.

Also present at the meeting were Safe executive secretary David Wisom, Safa local competition committee deputy chairman Lokman Sunggim and administrative officer Malim Surat.
