Muhyiddin will understand, says Hajiji after GRS backed Anwar
Hajiji Noor, whose GRS coalition had previously backed Muhyiddin Yassin to be prime minister, has now supported the government led by Anwar Ibrahim.
Kota Kinabalu: Gabungan Rakyat Sabah chairman Hajiji Noor is confident that Perikatan Nasional chief Muhyiddin Yassin understands GRS’ decision to join the unity government formed by Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.

The decision came days after GRS had aligned itself with PN and supported Muhyiddin as the nominee to be prime minister.

Hajiji said today’s decision to back Anwar’s government was made by GRS after taking into account the benefits for Sabah.

“We think about the interests of Sabah, under GRS where we give priority to this state. I think Tan Sri (Muhyiddin) knows about this and he is smart. I think there is no problem, because this is our decision in GRS,” he said after the tabling of Sabah’s 2023 budget at the state assembly. Hajiji is Sabah’s chief minister.
