Half-month bonus for Sabah civil servants
Hajiji also announced that government assemblymen would receive RM3 million allocation next year for the implementation of minor projects in their constituencies.
Kota Kinabalu: Sabah civil servants will receive a half-month bonus with a minimum payment of RM1,000, Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor said.

He said 20,271 state civil servants would receive the bonuses in January next year.

He said the civil servants’ role in the State’s development was highly appreciated.

“Therefore, the Government has agreed to provide Special Financial Assistance of half a month’s salary with a minimum amount of RM1,000 to 20,271 state civil servants who will be paid in January 2023.

“It is hoped this Special Financial Assistance will ease children’s school expenses and for Chinese New Year celebration,” he said. Hajiji added that a special aid of RM500 to celebrate Hari Raya Aidilfitri and the Kaamatan would be given and paid in April 2023.

“With these incentives, I hope civil servants can work more diligently and efficiently to ensure the quality of service to the people improves,” he said.

Hajiji also announced that government assemblymen would receive RM3 million allocation next year for the implementation of minor projects in their constituencies.

“I am pleased to inform that next year the allocation for the government assemblymen will be increased to RM3 million with the distribution of RM2.5 million for the implementation of minor projects in their respective constituencies and RM500,000 for Sentuhan Kasih.

“I sincerely hope that all of the assemblymen will use this provision wisely and fairly for the development of their constituencies,” he said.

Hajiji said even though the global political and economic situation was predicted to be uncertain in 2023, the state government would continue to heighten its efforts and is determined to ensure that Sabah’s economy and development are driven and intensified.

For that, he said, various activities will be implemented to boost economic growth in line with the state’s revenue performance.

He urged everyone to support the 2023 Budget for the continuous development and progress of Sabah.

“With this 2023 Budget, may the state’s economy strive for a better future, a sustainable economy and further ensuring Sabahan’s prosperity.”
