Kota Kinabalu: The State Government will set up temporary shelters to tackle the street children issue in each selected district in Sabah, said the Assistant Minister to the Chief Minister, Datuk Abidin Madingkir.
"These centres will be coordinated by the State Home Affairs and Research Office (HDENP) and the Welfare Services Centre, and assisted by local authorities," said Abidin during question time at the State Legislative Assembly sitting, here, Monday.

The pilot project, he said, will be implemented here, where the government has identified an unused government house to be turned into a temporary shelter.
An immediate allocation of RM250,000 has been provided for its renovation.
