Lee also hoped that the new Government would listen to the aspirations of Sabah People’s Human Rights Association, because people’s human rights are closely related to the Government.
Kota Kinabalu: Sabah People’s Human Rights Association President Lee Pun Yee hopes new Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim will consider restarting the Sabah natural gas pipeline project. This is so that Sabah could achieve more in the global energy layout, being in an appropriate location.

“I hope that the newly established Federal Government can treat every state in our country equally, especially Sabah. It can share its achievements with other states, which is equal treatment that the people of the whole country should have,” he said

According to him, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamed’s government had previously urged to stop the Sabah gas pipeline project involving tens of billions. Lee also hoped that the new Government would listen to the aspirations of Sabah People’s Human Rights Association, because people’s human rights are closely related to the Government.

“Human Rights are the standard to recognise and protect the dignity of all people, so that people of all ethnic groups in our country can continue to enjoy freedom, rights and a harmonious atmosphere.”
