Four-fold increase in next year’s allocation to Department of Irrigation and Drainage
Jeffrey said until 2022, the Sabah Rubber Industry Board (LIGS) plantation area is 222,976 hectares, where 165,350 hectares are for the smallholders (60,420), while 57,625 (hectares) are for estates and Forest Management Unit.
Kota Kinabalu: The budget for the State Department of Irrigation and Drainage (DID) has been increased four-fold from RM6.513 million this year to RM22.37 million in 2023.

Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Seri Dr Jeffrey Kitingan said it was towards the implementation and completion of related infrastructural projects in Kota Marudu, Keningau, Membakut and Beluran.

“The State Government had approved an allocation of RM21.011 million for flood mitigation projects, especially for Kota Kinabalu, Tawau, Beaufort, Papar, Kudat and Sipitang in 2022.
