APS lodges report against Muhyiddin over claims

Kota Kinabalu: Angkatan Perpaduan Sabah (APS) Vice President Paul Kadau has lodged a police report against former Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin over claims that Jews have infiltrated the country and are successfully carrying out Christianisation of Muslims.

He said videos of the Perikatan Nasional Chairman’s speech during the recent general election, which have made their rounds on social media, have stirred anxiety, worry, negative perceptions and emotional conflict among the multi-layered community.

“His actions might have incited prejudice and could have caused a riot. As former premier, he should be more aware that Malaysians live in unity, harmony, tolerance and peace.
“However, for the past few years, religious sentiments have become uncontrollable. Authorities should act immediately to reduce these which are being played by political parties and leaders,” he said

APS, Paul said, urged the Pakatan Harapan-led government to take proactive steps in dealing with the issue.

“The police should open an investigation against Muhyiddin,” he said.

Paul also urged the Election Commission (EC) to take the same action, saying the Bersatu President’s actions clearly violated the Election Offences Act 1954.

“APS demands that Muhyiddin issue an apology to all Malaysians because his speech has upset many, especially the churches.

“APS will not hesitate to obtain a formal apology from him through the legal process,” he said.
