Fake documents: Couple among four fined
Masri committed the offence at the Semporna District Education Office (PPD) on October 27, 2017 by using a fake document dated 30 June 2017, 31 July 2017 and 31 August 2017 for the purpose of getting a quotation for renting and managing the canteen at the SK Gelam-Gelam Semporna for a period of two years from 1 January 2018 to 31 December 2019.
TAWAU: Four contractors, including a husband and wife, were fined in the Corruption Special Sessions Court Tawau here, Monday, after they pleaded guilty to submitting false documents to get a tender to rent and manage the school canteen in Semporna in 2017.

The manager of Asmah Wholesale Company, Masri Nulhadi, 45, and his wife, Asmah Moong, 42, who was also the owner of Asmah Wholesale Company, were each fined RM24,000 – RM8,000 for each of the three charges against them.

Asmah on 27 October 2017 at PPD Semporna as the owner of the company conspired with Masri to use a fake document dated 30 June 2017, 31 July 2017 and 31 August 2017 for the same purpose.

The other two contractors were Darwin Mohd Kembal, 32, and Mohd Nasir Muhammad, 34, respectively, and each was fined RM30,000 – RM10,000 for each of the three charges for the same offence (presenting false documents).

Darwin committed the offence on 24 October 2017 at PPD Semporna by using a fake document to get quotations for renting and managing canteens in SK Pulau Bait Semporna for a period of two years from 1 January 2018 to 31 December 2019.

Meanwhile, Mohd Nasir committed his offence on 24 October 2017 at PPD Semporna by using a fake document dated 30 June 2017, 31 July 2017 and 31 August 2017 for the purpose of obtaining quotation for renting and managing the canteen at SK Bubul II Semporna School for a period two years from 1 January 2018 to 31 December 2019.

All four accused who were not represented by a lawyer made a confession in front Judge Abu Bakar Manat.

They were charged under Section 471 of the Penal Code (Act 574) punishable under Section 465 of the same Code which provides for a prison sentence of up to two years, or fine, or both upon conviction.
