Speaking in at a media conference after an Immigration Department operation briefing here Friday, Saifuddin Nasution said following this, the Home Affairs Ministry would be holding discussions with the Public Service Department on the matter.

“(The issue) is that part of the supporting team have high qualifications but the posts they are holding are low, even though they could fill the positions, vacancies are limited,” he said.

He said Malaysia and Thailand are committed to improve border control apart from agreeing to hold follow-up measures involving the security forces of both countries.

“This is not particularly over the bombing incidents in southern Thailand or in Bandung (Indonesia) but this is a continuous commitment as both countries have close relations (with Malaysia),” he said.

In this regard, he also advised Malaysians visiting abroad to be sensitive with current developments especially on the visiting destinations apart from planning their journeys to be away from high-risk locations.
