Kota Kinabalu: A police report has been lodged here against two Sabahans claiming to be appointed representatives of the Sungei Ujong Customary Ancient Council of Negeri Sembilan who allegedly made away with over RM200,000 in scams.
The council’s deputy head, YM Dato Johan Wan Khairil Mohd Yusoff, claimed the duo have been impersonating as officials of the Negeri Sembilan royalty.
He said the Royal Council never appointed them as the adviser and special officer to hold any role in the Council.
“The Council does not know the two and is very sorry for the impersonation done by these irresponsible parties,” he said.
Lodging the report at the Karamunsing police station here on Saturday, Johan said the Council regretted any inconvenience caused by the impersonators.
“This (police) report is to warn the public to not fall prey to their tactics. Victims are urged to immediately report to the police.
“This report is also to safeguard the Sungei Ujong Customary Ancient Council’s good name and not to be tarnished and used by irresponsible people for personal gain,” he said.
