Sabah Ministry offers fully sponsored ICT courses
These include courses in Cisco Certified CyberOps Associate, Microsoft Certified Power BI Data Analyst Associate, Android Certified Application Development, Adobe Certified Professional in Digital Video: Adobe Premiere Pro, Meta Certified Digital Marketing Associate, R-Programming, Online Media Creation – Adobe Express, as well as other relevant courses.
Kota Kinabalu: The State Science, Technology and Innovation Ministry (KSTI) is offering 149 fully sponsored ICT courses and four language courses next year, with 27 ICT courses being new.The appointed training provider, Advanced Business Systems Consultants Sdn Bhd (ASBC), will continue to play its role in assisting KSTI to ensure all Sabahans are given the opportunity to access the fully sponsored ICT courses.

The training schedule will be supported by an efficient IT administration system which encompasses a multi-channel enquiry system, mobile app registration and advanced computer lab locations with localised IT centres.

It will also include “Mobile Training Centres” throughout Sabah and online class options with e-certification, which enables the training to be delivered and completed more conveniently.

Finance Minister Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun said the two projects together would add 28MWac of new power generation capacity, helping to stabilise electricity supply in Sabah.
ASBC Senior Manager Ginny Wong said all 153 courses offered in 2022 will not only be beneficial for personal development but also serve specific in-demand professional needs. “For instance, there are 17 globally recognised Professional Certification courses that will equip participants to qualify as technicians in the field.

“Other courses can upskill participants to be more competitive in the workplace, begin a start-up as a technopreneur, become self-employed or even have more freedom on the job as a freelancer,” she said.

ABSC has lined up 27 new ICT courses in efforts to keep abreast with current development trends in the Fourth Industrial Revolution (IR4.0).

These include courses in Cisco Certified CyberOps Associate, Microsoft Certified Power BI Data Analyst Associate, Android Certified Application Development, Adobe Certified Professional in Digital Video: Adobe Premiere Pro, Meta Certified Digital Marketing Associate, R-Programming, Online Media Creation – Adobe Express, as well as other relevant courses.

Besides ICT programmes, ABSC continues to offer language courses such as English for Employability, Conversational Korean, Japanese and Mandarin due to overwhelming support for these courses.

Echoing the State Government’s call to train more youths in becoming more ICT literate and competent for future employment readiness, ABSC is inviting the school leavers, graduates or youth who are currently unemployed to register and attend any of the available courses.

All the courses are free and come with training materials, refreshments and e-certificates of attendance.
