Trafficking 59g drugs: Jobless Filipino tentatively charged
The charge, under Section 39B(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, carries a punishment of either the death penalty or life in prison and whipping with a minimum of 15 strokes.
Kota Kinabalu: An unemployed Filipino was tentatively charged in the Magistrate’s Court here with drug trafficking.

Wan Har Bilbano, 22, was accused of trafficking in 59.47gm of drugs at 2.10pm on Nov 30, this year by the roadside of Jalan Sepanggar next to Normah M. Enterprise, Sepanggar.

However, no plea was taken from Wan, who appeared before Magistrate Lovely Natasha Charles, after the charge was read out to him.

In another case, a 31-year-old woman was given a discharge not amounting to an acquittal (DNAA) from a charge of dishonestly misappropriating RM19,000 cash belonging to a company.

The Magistrate released Elma Azril, whose case came up for case management, after being informed by the complainant that he had lodged a police report to withdraw his previous report against Elma.

Elma was accused of misappropriating the money for her own use at Public Bank in Inanam on Oct 29, this year.

Shad had on Nov 7 claimed trial to the charge under Section 403 of the Penal Code.

Meanwhile, the case of a self-employed man charged with assaulting his stepson, will go on trial on April 10, next year

Magistrate Stephanie Sherron Abbie set the date for Rashid Hasim.

Rashid was accused of voluntarily causing hurt to the 14-year-old alleged victim at 10.15pm on Oct 16 this year at Kg Bakau, Likas.

He had on Nov 28 pleaded not guilty to the charge under Section 323 of the Penal Code.

Rashid, who has no valid identification document, was ordered to be further remanded.
