Leave political appointees out of police conduct commission, says ex-IGP
Musa Hassan says this will ensure that the commission maintain its independence when investigating cases involving police conduct.
PETALING JAYA: The independent police conduct commission must not include political appointees, says former inspector-general of police Musa Hassan.

According to Berita Harian, Musa said this would ensure that the commission maintained its independence when investigating cases involving police conduct.

He said those who had experience and knowledge serving in the police force should be appointed.

Yesterday, home minister Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said the Independent Police Conduct Commission (IPCC) Bill 2020, which seeks to establish an independent oversight commission for police conduct, would come into force next June.
