SUNGAI BULOH: A father of a landslide victim in Batang Kali is holding out hope for his son’s survival, despite failing to locate him after going from hospital to hospital.

Visibly tired and exasperated, 60-year-old Choo said his son and daughter-in-law had gone camping at the Father’s Organic Farm campsite near Genting Highlands.

His 31-year-old daughter-in-law had already been found to be safe and was being treated at Selayang Hospital, but his son remained unaccounted for.

“I’ve looked for him in every hospital (housing the landslide victims) but I’ve yet to find him,” Choo told reporters when met at Sungai Buloh Hospital here.

He said a witness had told him that they saw his son being ferried into an ambulance, but could not determine if it really was him. This was what prompted him to check on every hospital treating the victims.

“I went to Kuala Kubu Bharu Hospital, Selayang Hospital, now I’m here (at Sungai Buloh Hospital) but I still can’t find him,” he said, adding that he learned of the landslide at 8am today.

He expressed heartache over the tense wait in determining his son’s status, but was not giving up just yet. Choo said he was continuing his search while staying hopeful of his son’s safe return.

“I’ve been worried sick since this morning. I hope he’s safe,” he added.
