Body of girl found, landslide death toll now 24

BATANG KALI: A little girl is the latest casualty of the landslide at the Father’s Organic Farm, bringing the death toll to 24.

Inspector-General of Police Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani confirmed the recovery of the body after visiting the site here today.

“The body of the girl was found at Sector A (Hillview),” he said.

The girl was found at around 4pm, bringing the total number of children killed in the tragedy to seven.

Earlier, two bodies of a woman and a boy were found close to each other. Authorities believe they are mother and son.

Meanwhile, Acryl Sani said Selangor criminal investigation department chief Baharudin Mat Taib would lead the police probe on the farm’s operator.

Yesterday, local government development minister Nga Kor Ming revealed that the farm did not have a licence to run campsites.

The campsite operators face a jail term of up to three years and/or a RM50,000 fine, if convicted.
