Pick-up vehicle destroyed by fire

KUNAK: An old pick-up vehicle was destroyed by fire while parked in the Sapang Building area, behind the Farmers Association Office (PPK) in Kunak Town, early Friday morning.

Kunak Fire and Rescue Department Head Mohamad Omarbatha said they received an emergency call at 1.35 am through the station’s line.

A team led by Senior Fire Officer (PBK II) Rosman Gari, a machine, and an EMRS vehicle rushed to the accident scene located one kilometre from the fire station.

“The team used one stream using fire engines. It was found that the vehicle was 90 per cent engulfed in fire”, he said, adding that no injuries were reported in the incident and the team controlled the fire from spreading to nearby areas.
