Motorcyclist killed in Papar crash
The Perodua Bezza that turned turtle following the incident.
PAPAR: A 41-year-old motorcyclist died on the spot in an accident along KM13 Jalan Papar–Beaufort, on Tuesday.

District Police Chief DSP Kamaruddin Ambo Sakka said a Perodua Bezza turned turtle after losing control and crashing into a motorcycle near Sabah Oil and Gas Terminal (SOGT) at 4.50am.

“Based on initial investigations, it was believed that the driver lost control of his vehicle and rammed into the rear side of the motorcycle, dragging the victim into the opposing lane for about 23 metres based on the marks found on the road.

“The overturned Bezza was found 12 metres from the victim and the motorcycle,” he said, adding that the Bezza driver was not at the scene when police arrived.

Due to serious injuries, Kamaruddin said the victim was pronounced dead by medical officers at the scene and was brought to Papar Hospital Forensic Unit for post mortem.

He added that the case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 by Inspector Jagger Jeffery.
