KOTA KINABALU: Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor has strongly reminded senior civil servants, especially district officers not to delay the implementation of government projects for the people or they would have to face the music.
He said they must carry out the projects which allocations have been approved and completed in accordance with its schedule.
Failing to do so, Hajiji said Sabah will continue to be lagging behind as it is now the second poorest state in the country.
Hajiji disclosed he has received numerous reports of district officers who are acting “as if he or she is the King or Sultan in the respective districts.”
"From now on, I will act tough and firm against them. I will personally monitor their key performance index and public delivery.
"If the reports were found to be true, I will not hesitate at all to take action against them. Do not think that the Chief Minister now is kind and soft-hearted," Hajiji said.
Hajiji who is also Sedia Chairman said this in his speech when officiating the Sabah Economic Development and Investment Agency (Sedia) strategic networking with district administrations at Menara Kinabalu, here, Thursday.
