Kota Kinabalu: Sabah pencak silat squad came third overall in the 20th National Silat Championship held at the Indoor Arena Education Sports Complex ,Iskandar Putri in Johor from December 19-13.
They took home three gold, two silver and two bronze medals to finish behind champions Pahang who won eight gold, six silver and four bronze medals and second placed Terengganu with four gold, one silver and one bronze medals.
The gold medallists for the team were Nurul Ain Sohrab (Putri F), Mohd Shahrul Zeckry (Putra F), Nor Farah Mazlan (Putri A) and the silver medals were won by Muhammad Helmi Basrol (Putra E), Nur Syazerra Hidayah (Putri B) while the bronze medals delivered by Razfirdaus Razaineh (Putra B) and Mohd Aman Jinli (Solo Kreatif Putra).
The squad was led by team manager Emy Latip who was also one of the two team coaches with Arif Mulis.
