KUALA PENYU: A 49-year-old local was arrested here after syabu-type drug weighing about 5.41gm was found in his pants on Sunday.

District Police Chief DSP Yusoff Zaki Yaccob, who confirmed the arrest, said police approached the suspect who was riding a motorcycle in a suspicious manner at a palm oil plantation area.

“An inspection on the suspect yielded a transparent plastic packet containing chunks of clear crystal suspected to be syabu drug stored in a cigarette box.

“The drug was seized and the case investigated under Section 39A(1) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952,” he said.
