TAWAU: A woman, 33, not only lost RM2,000 but also received five stitches when she was slashed with a box cutter in a robbery at a shop in Bandar Fajar, here, Friday.
Tawau District Police Chief ACP Jasmin Hussin said the victim, who is the shop’s assistant, was alone in the 4pm incident.
“The victim was approached by an unfamiliar man in his 20s wearing a hat and a mask who pretended to buy something from the shop.
“The suspect then went to the counter as if to pay for the items before grabbing the victim’s bracelet,” he said.
Jasmin said the victim sustained injuries on her left wrist in the attack and received treatment at the hospital.
He said investigations are ongoing under Section 394 of the Penal Code.
